I have included the Dewalt DWX723 miter saw stand in the reviews on this site for two reasons.
1 – If you have a miter saw you plan on using in more than one place, you need a portable stand.
2 – I own the Dewalt DWX723 and think it is the cat’s meow.
riginally I was going to pick up a rolling stand that permanently mounted the miter saw. Just collapse the stand and roll it away. That was until I picked up the box. Those stands are heavy!
This stand is made mainly out of Aluminum so it is incredibly light and portable. With the legs folded, you just grab the handle on the underside and carry it off the job. The saw stays permanently mounted to the clamps, so mounting it on the stand is the work of a minute. The saw goes on a shelf and the stand hangs against the wall out of the way.
I have had both my Ridgid 10″ saw and my Bosch 12″ slider mounted to this stand with no problem.
The arms extend to 8 feet or so, giving you plenty of support for all but the longest boards. And though the many different adjustments available on the rests on some of the other stands are quite impressive, I have used them and what they really are is overkill. I’d bet that 98% of the time they never get used. All they really accomplish is adding weight to what is already a stand that is too heavy.
I would recommend the Dewalt DWX723 to anyone. In addition the reviews for this stand are almost universally positive and the pricing at Amazon is also 15% less than I paid for mine.
