The Milwaukee 6955-20 Dual slider is another one of those saws that thwarts people who like to leave bad reviews. The most typical negative is that the bevel controls are not out front. Bosch Kind of set the bar for that feature.
The Milwaukee 6955-20 is a top of the line dual bevel sliding compound miter saw the offers ample power and performance. Two features set this saw apart from the rank and file 12” miter saws.

First, it’s dust collection is reported to be the best in the business. Second is the digital readout for miter cuts. Along with a detent override this system makes accurate, repeatable cuts down to the tenth of a degree. Unheard of accuracy in a 12” miter saw.
With Milwaukee’s unmatched reputation for quality, it would be hard to go wrong buying this saw.
Positive reviews abound. Like this one from Chris K. at Amazon:
“I normally never write reviews. That said, Milwaukee nailed this saw! Accuracy is simply perfect out of the box. I am a stickler for perfection and normally will adjust my saws and equipment for 20 minutes until perfect. I could find no room for adjustment, bevel or miter! Dust collection was amazing….then attached to a 4 inch jet dust collection system took this machine over the top!
The digital gauge and the lights are wonderful and very useful. Not gimmicky in the slightest.
You’ll love this saw. “

From a post on Contractortalk.com:
“I finally picked one of these up today and put it through it’s paces. I’m really impressed with the accuracy and smoothness of each cut. The saw feels very solidly built with absolutely no play or wobble. I really like the soft-start motor, and the fine adjustment dial works as well as I had hoped. The big 3-position bevel lock handle is the best feature for me…”
Some people were not happy that Milwaukee is selling this saw without a material hold down clamp. Another negative was that the right miter fence does not slide, and if it is removed the remaining fence is too short to be effective.
Digital Dude from Virginia Said:
“We’ve used this saw for about 2 weeks now and have had a chance to become very familiar with it. The build quality is top-notch and it will power through anything you put in its path… The fine adjustment feature is something that would be hard to live without after having used it.” Click here to read the full review.”
And Mark at Amazon said:
“This is one amazing tool. I can see why Fine Homebuilding / Woodworking gave this saw their vote for best overall in their 2010 Tool Guide.”
The strong positive reviews, the standard features, especially the digital readout and dust collection, Milwaukee’s reputation for quality and durability – it is hard to see how you could go wrong purchasing this saw.
